Where are you located? | We are located in just outside the city limits of Shelton, WA. We are also available to travel to local locations around the PNW, in addition to destination sessions around the world.
Do you offer prints, digital, or both? |At Jennifer Rutledge photography, we believe in the permanence, and hands-on enjoyment, of high-quality printed wall art, albums, and prints. We also love having photos on our phones and for social media! So as a Rutledge Senior, you get both: ultra high quality prints and phone resolution digitals!
Do you offer a print release? | For over 18 years, we have focused our efforts on high quality portraits. If it has our name on it, it must be perfect. It must be made to last. The only way to maintain and control that quality is through loyalty to our professional image processing lab. Therefore, we do all of our own printing.
How long does the Senior Portrait process take? | Depending on the time of year, it can take 2-4 weeks to get a photo shoot. Your portraits are typically ready to be view in 5-7 business days. Finished print orders normally take 3-4 weeks to complete.
What will my investment be? | That totally depends on you! Some invest $700, while others spend $2500+. If you budget $1200, that will cover your basic needs. Don't be surprised if you love them all and want to buy more!
When do I pay? | Your photoshoot fee is due before your scheduled session. You may pay a deposit to hold your date, and then pay the balance the day of your shoot. The balance of your order is due at your Preview & Order Appointment. Please ask about payment options if desired. Make sure to ask aobut our EXCLUSIVE PREPAY CREDITS which increase the bang for your buck!
How do you choose the backgrounds and/or locations? | As a general rule, your outfits select the backgrounds. We always look to match the studio and locations to your wardrobe and personality. We give preference to any favorite spots you have in mind, so make sure the share them with us during your Design Consultation.
What about weather or rain? | Because our sessions are outdoors and our goal is to provide the best and most unique experience possible, we are limited in regards to the weather. In order to create the best images possible, we may reschedule your session due to heat, cold, wind, rain, etc. Be prepared if there is more than a 50% chance for inclement weather or if it is calling for heat in excess of 95 degrees-you will receive a call or email the night before to possibly reschedule. The shoot is not officially canceled until you have heard from us, hopefully we have great weather!
Do you offer makeup and hair styling? | We can help you arrange services, if you'd like. We put you in touch with our favorite artists and you pay their fees direct to them.
Can I include my activities, car, pet, BFF, etc? | Yes please, we encourage all of those! Activities can cover so much more than main stream school activities. Maybe it's dance, art, books, swimming, equine, hunting, fishing, WWII reenacting, whatever floats your boat! If you want to include your car, make sure it's clean. Unless off road is your jam, then the dirtier the better!
Can you supply my school with a yearbook photo? | We believe everyone should have a yearbook photo they love! Choose your favorite and we will email you a digital file optimized for yearbook. You will be responsible for submitting the image to your yearbook, per their requirements.
